Michael Novak-Serving Others

“I’m humbled to receive the Serving Others Guiding Value Award! It means more to me then I could ever express and it is great honor to be recognized in an organization full of amazing employees who are driven to serve others.”

Michael was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He performed his under graduate work at Santa Clara and Oregon State. He did Physician Assistant training at Philadelphia where he spent three years. He has been practicing in Weaverville for the last 16 years. Michael is married and has two daughters ages eight and five.

Any advice for future award winners?

Make sure you take good pictures because it will be posted everywhere!

What is your favorite past time?

Backcountry skiing and Mountain Biking

Into Thin Air- Jon Krakauer

Do you have any pets?

One dog- Maile

An interesting fact about you that others might not know?

In 2015, I was placed second in my division and 19th in the World Championship 24 hour solo mountain bike race.

Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter and Why?

I would say all of them because each one of them offers different opportunities of fun outdoor activities, but that would be cheating. If I had to choose one, it would be winter with lots of snow so the skiing would be great.

Hike and climb in Patagonia

Michael Hollowell was born and raised outside of Santa Barbara. He did his under graduation from Arizona State and Law Degree specializing in Indigenous Law & Policy from Michigan State. Michael is proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Any advice for future award winners?

Stay humble, strive to do better and most important, continue to fight the good fight on behalf of the Redding Rancheria.

What is your zodiac sign?

I believe I am on the cusp of both Aquarius and Capricorn!

What is your favorite past time?

Renovating homes and pretending like I can still play sports.

The Round House-Louise Erdrich

One dog-Dallas and a cat-Otis

An interesting fact about you that others might not know?

I was a former High School varsity coach for girl’s basketball and softball.

Design and build my own custom home….with a great view of course.

Ben Harrie-Embracing Change

Ben Harrie was born in Fall river and lived on the Big Bend Rd for many years. He is a GED graduate then was a labor for most of his life until he hurt his back in July 2013. Later, he enrolled into IOT and learned to become a Medical Assistant. Currently, Ben works at Churn Creek Health Care and he loves his job.

Any advice for future award winners?

Just put your heart into the world around you, and always do the best that you can!

What is your favorite past time?

I love spending days at the lake with my beautiful wife and daughter, catching fish and soaking in the beauty of wild life.

I’ve been with tribal council for 19 years and a long time ago I was a Bingo Attendant at Win River Resort & Casino.
